Our hotel in Interlaken, Switzerland

The creation of the main building goes back two centuries, resulting in a stately farmhouse built in the years 1862/63. The Hotel is built in typical Swiss chalet style and is only 5-10 walking minutes away from the West railway station, the city center and the Thunersee boat landing-stage.

The Chalet Swiss has 53 rooms, with 29 rooms in the main building and 24 in the guests house. All rooms in the guests house are Superior rooms, with a balcony/terrace; many have mountain views. There are 6 balcony rooms facing the Alps, in the main building and from most of the Standard rooms (rooms without balcony) you have a magnificent view to the mountains.

Hotel Des Alpes, Lucerne

Hotel Des Alpes, Lucerne
Hotel Des Alpes

The Hotel Des Alpes, with its fantastic views of the Alps, as its name implies, is a very popular hotel located on the River Reuss, next to Lake Lucerne, on the edge of the picturesque old town district of Lucerne.

Fantastic views from The Des Alpes Hotel

Originally built circa 1740 as an inn for travelers, The Hotel Des Alpes tall, narrow facade with restrained baroque detailing, was renovated in 2001, and continues to welcome visitors.

The Des Alpes public rooms still retain their old fashioned Swiss charm. The rooms in the rear open onto the Altstadt (the Old Town), the other rooms have a view of the River, and Lucerne's skyline.

All units feature TV, mini bar and phones, and the beautiful private bathrooms have hair dryers. There are 2 restaurants, one of which is an open air terrace beside the River Reuss. After a day of sightseeing and shopping, enjoy a light snack or meal while watching the swans drift along with the currents.

The hotel also features a lounge, room service and dry cleaning. On Saturday mornings, just outside our windows, the local vendors set up stalls along the river, selling cheese, meats, spices, fruit, candies and beautiful flowers.

Enjoy the tempting breakfast buffet with cereals, juices, milk, hard boiled eggs, fresh breads, fruits and jams, before heading out for a day of shopping or exploring.
