Late one night, I met a man, that would leave his footprints in my life forever. He was intellectual and humorous, and had a magical effect on those around him.
We formed a very unique bond during the following months. We often explored serious concepts of our lives up to this point, and we would laugh together for hours over the events of our days.
In September of 1998, Spider(Doug) and I (Silk) opened our first venture together, SilkenSpider Webs, a full service web design firm. His patience and ability to teach me html code from scratch, is a tribute to his character. I had worked on computers for years, but NEVER from the side of creating what appeared on my computers!!!
Spider's technological abilities are only rivaled by his creative use of language. It still amazes me with his 20 plus years of experience building and working on computers, and his ability to resolve complex office system problems for corporations, that he is willing to teach me to "walk" toward what promises to be the most rewarding challenge of my life.
Spider, your character and knowledge, are like magic to me. I am so proud of you, not only as my partner, but as my friend. Thank you *S*
Here it is 10 years later, and Doug, your footprints are still changing my life in many ways. I hope my growth over these years is as rewarding to you as it is to me. Sometimes I reflect on the scope of knowledge you have shared with me, and even on my non technical days, you still go forward "teaching me to walk."
In October, 2002, you made your first "journey" with me to Switzerland, and I am so proud to share with you, 2 decades of knowledge I have gained in my travels in Europe. You have already proven to be a great source of help in creating these new tours for 2008 and 2009, and I am excited about all of our adventures that are to come in the years ahead.
